What Poly-B does not install, and why it says so
Gas and propane water heaters, furnaces and any fuel-fired appliance. That work is regulated in Ontario by the TSSA and Poly-B is not licensed for it. Poly-B refers a licensed gas technician and handles the water-side plumbing around the unit. A page that pretends otherwise is the kind of page an insurer reads later, and this site does not carry one.
Permits, inspections and code
Most installations on this page alter the building’s drainage or water supply and are permitted and inspected under the Ontario Building Code. Rough-ins get an underground inspection before concrete and a rough-in inspection before drywall. A backwater valve, a repipe and a basement bathroom are permitted work. Backflow devices need a City building permit and are tested on installation and annually under By-Law 2015-97. Sump discharge follows the City’s Engineering Design Guidelines: never to the sanitary sewer. Poly-B pulls the permits, books the inspections and installs to the code rather than to the quickest swap.
What installations cost in North Bay

Installing for this climate and this water
Winters that reach minus 20 and colder decide where a line can run and where a hose bib can sit. The City requires 1.8 m of cover on buried services, and Poly-B applies the same thinking to well lines, sump discharges and lines to detached buildings. Well water around Corbeil, Astorville, Bonfield and Powassan is soft, slightly acidic and often carries iron and silt, which is why a softener or filter is sized to a test and why a new water heater on a well gets a sediment filter. North Bay’s Trout Lake supply is easier on equipment, but older city homes hide galvanized stubs and original shut-offs that get replaced while the water is off.
Licensing
Plumber (306A) is a compulsory trade regulated by Skilled Trades Ontario. Poly-B’s owner holds Red Seal journeyman certification, is licensed for plumbing, wells, septic and backflow prevention, and carries up to $5 million in liability insurance. Well pump work falls under Ontario Regulation 903; electrical connections are made to Electrical Safety Authority requirements.
